Data Analyst, Information Security & Data Protection
This role supports the Institutional Securities Technology (IST) division, specifically within the Data Strategy department responsible for Data Governance, Data Quality, Analytics, Security & Privacy, and Architecture. The Business/Data Analyst will work across multiple product lines—Trading & Sales, Finance, Risk, Treasury, Operations, and Regulatory—to support a global regulatory program focused on data quality reporting. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between policy, governance, tooling teams, and technical delivery groups, ensuring alignment, risk mitigation, and successful execution of data governance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with cross-divisional project managers, technology product owners, and data office engineering teams to align goals and deliverables for global regulatory data quality reporting.
- Communicate effectively across diverse stakeholders to bridge gaps between policy, tooling, program governance, and delivery teams.
- Work closely with development teams to educate them on intended outcomes, data governance tools, data quality integration, and JIRA for reporting and issue tracking.
- Troubleshoot and resolve roadblocks encountered by development teams.
- Understand and familiarize yourself with Data Architecture & Management principles, BCBS 239 requirements, and the Firm’s Data Policy.
- Identify and mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and proactively resolve issues using Agile methodologies.
- Partner with the Firmwide Data Office to enhance strategic tooling for data cataloging and lineage.
- Support broader program needs with flexibility beyond core responsibilities.
- Previous experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while proposing ideas and innovative concepts.
- Ability to understand technical solutions and apply them practically; must be comfortable working at the API and configuration level (not a coding role).
- Familiarity with data governance concepts including data cataloging, ownership, lineage, and data quality.
- Experience working with global teams across multiple locations, ideally within financial services or large consulting firms.
- Ability to explain complex ideas and deliverables simply, clearly, and persuasively.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
