Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

We’re looking for an Annotator to join our growing team!

Data Annotator’s mission:
At the Intact Lab, we train machine learning models based on supervised learning and other approaches requiring large quantities of annotated data for use in building training and validation datasets. To ensure that our models perform as expected, the Data Annotator is responsible for locating, labeling and categorizing as faithfully as possible large quantities of data from text, audio and image datasets, including phone conversation transcripts, chat transcripts, claims notes, photos of vehicle damage and more.

As Data Annotator, your excellent work will help the Lab’s data scientists evaluate existing and train new machine learning models. Reporting to the manager of a team assigned to implement and structure Lab initiatives, you will work with our Senior Data Annotators and be trained to annotate data for various Intact Lab – Data Science teams using detailed instructions.

• Annotate a variety of datasets based on provided instructions
• Be a contact person for annotation, linguistic and French and English language questions
• Collaborate with the Intact Lab– Data Science teams in defining and handling their data annotation needs

• Academic background (bachelor’s degree) in translation, linguistics or other language-related discipline (an asset)
• Experience in translation, revision or other language-related activities (an asset)
• Demonstrate an eye for detail and consistency
• Accurate, keen sense of observation and highly disciplined
