Position: We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst to support a short-term project with our public sector client.
Location: Montreal

Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst to support a short-term project with our public sector client. The successful candidate will assist with data analysis, data entry, validation, and reporting activities while ensuring information is accurate, complete, and well organized.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong Excel skills, analytical abilities, and communication skills who is comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Location: Remote

Contract Duration: 2 months

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and relevant insights.
  • Enter, review, validate, and maintain data with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Use advanced Microsoft Excel functionality to organize, manipulate, analyze, and report on data.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, trackers, and other data-related documentation.
  • Perform data cleansing and quality checks to identify missing, duplicate, or inaccurate information.
  • Investigate data issues and assist with resolving discrepancies.
  • Consolidate information from multiple sources into standardized formats.
  • Support the preparation of reports and summaries for project stakeholders.
  • Communicate findings, issues, and updates clearly to team members and stakeholders.
  • Work independently to complete assigned tasks within established project timelines.
  • Must-Have Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with data analysis and data entry.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, Pivot Tables, lookups, filtering, sorting, and data manipulation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Previous experience working within the public sector or government environment.
  • Experience preparing reports, dashboards, or data summaries.
  • Familiarity with data quality, data validation, and data-cleaning processes.
  • Experience working with large datasets.
