Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 per year (eligible for annual bonus, leave of absence, vacation, personal days, benefits, pension plan).
Location:
Montreal, QC or Quebec City, QC (Hybrid work: 2 days in-office or 15 hours per week in office; remote otherwise). The role is a head office position based in Canada.

Job Overview
As a Senior Underwriter – Commercial Lines, you will analyze low complexity business and moderate premium volume, working with the sales force to provide expertise and service to new and existing policyholders.
Your role supports the growth of Wawanesa’s commercial insurance portfolio in Quebec and across Canada.
Job Responsibilities
Fleet Management and Analysis – risk analysis using technology and external data to quote, negotiate, and authorize risk acceptance.
Knowledge Sharing – contribute to the team’s training and promote collective excellence.
Portfolio Development in Quebec – work with broker partners to grow the Quebec region portfolio.
Participate in rapidly growing department – support business objectives and drive personal/professional development.
Fleet Development – evolve and manage the fleet for Wawanesa’s Commercial Insurance department.
Networking and Collaboration – maintain relationships with broker partners and industry events.
Pricing and Renewal Management – assess policy renewal eligibility and strengthen customer retention.
Customer Service Excellence – serve as primary contact for policyholders, providing expert and responsive service.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of Commercial Auto Property and Casualty industry experience.
Bilingual in French and English (written and spoken).
Post‑secondary education or related business experience.
Completed or actively pursuing a Property & Casualty Industry Designation (e.g., CIP).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software.
Excellent attention to detail and comprehensive information review.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with justification abilities.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to present information persuasively.
Ability to multi‑task, prioritize daily work, meet deadlines, and maintain high performance.
