The University of Ottawa seeks a knowledgeable part-time instructor for LCM
3102, aimed at exploring the complexities of world languages. This in-person course will enroll approximately 45 students and delve into sociolinguistics and cultural expressions. Your academic background will guide students in understanding language diversity, media influence, and translations across cultures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist students in learning about global linguistic diversity
• Present complex ideas on language relations clearly
• Discuss the role of languages in media and culture
• Encourage critical thinking on linguistic policies
• Supervise practical translation exercises with students
Requirements:
• PhD in a field related to world languages
• Experience in university-level teaching
• Specialization in linguistic diversity and policies
• Bilingual in French and English
• Knowledge of cultural expressions in various media
