At Bitumar
, we are looking for a Senior Strategic Buyer capable of transforming our procurement practices and actively contributing to our growth.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with the Vice President of Operations, you will play a key role in optimizing costs and the overall performance of the organization.
You will be at the heart of strategic decisions by implementing effective, sustainable procurement approaches aligned with our business objectives.
What Awaits YouDevelop and deploy high-performing procurement strategies;
Directly influence the company’s profitability and competitiveness;
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (operations, engineering, sales);
Engage with suppliers in Canada and internationally.
Analyze internal needs and define technical and commercial specifications;
Identify, evaluate, and select strategic suppliers;
Negotiate advantageous agreements (pricing, timelines, conditions);
Lead large-scale tender processes;
Implement cost-reduction initiatives;
Develop category-specific purchasing strategies;
Monitor market trends and anticipate supply chain risks;
Measure and optimize supplier performance.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, or other relevant field;
5 to 10 years of experience in strategic purchasing;
Fluency in both English and French (international suppliers and partners);
Strong expertise in procurement management, ideally in petrochemicals, construction, or bitumen sectors;
Excellent negotiation and contract management skills;
Analytical mindset, leadership, and high level of autonomy;
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., JDE);
Valid passport and availability to travel to operational or procurement sites as needed.
