Full-time permanent (40 hours) Position Summary Valnet's sister company, VREC, is currently searching for a Maintenance Associate.

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of a 6-floor commercial building, including all common areas, mechanical spaces, exterior grounds, and parking facilities.

The role combines hands-on maintenance duties with concierge-level support, ensuring tenants and visitors experience a clean, functional, and well-managed environment.

Key Responsibilities 1.

Building Maintenance & Operations
• Perform daily inspections of floors, common areas, stairwells, elevators, and mechanical rooms.

  • • Conduct basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, lighting, painting, door hardware).
  • • Monitor HVAC systems and report irregularities.
  • • Ensure access systems, locks, and security features are functioning properly.

    Exterior & Parking Areas
    • Inspect building perimeter, landscaping, and loading docks.

  • • Maintain parking areas; remove debris and monitor lighting.
  • • Coordinate snow removal and seasonal outdoor maintenance.

    Tenant & Visitor Support
    • Act as a professional point of contact for tenants.

  • • Respond to maintenance requests promptly.
  • • Assist with contractor access and deliveries.
  • 4.

    Preventive Maintenance & Safety
    • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks.

  • • Maintain inspection logs.
  • • Report or correct safety hazards immediately.
  • • Assist during fire alarms and emergencies.
  • 5.

    Vendor & Contractor Coordination
    • Escort contractors and supervise work zones.

  • • Communicate progress or delays to management.
  • 6.

    Cleaning Support (Light Duties)
    • Spot cleaning, replacing consumables, managing waste bins as needed.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • 2–3 years of experience in building maintenance.

  • • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
  • • Availability for occasional after-hours calls.

    Preferred:
    • DEP or technical training in building maintenance.

  • • Experience in commercial buildings.
  • • Knowledge of access control or building automation systems.
  • • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.

    L’Associé à l’Entretien d’Immeuble est responsable du bon fonctionnement, de la sécurité et de l’entretien général d’un immeuble commercial de 6 étages, incluant les aires communes, les espaces mécaniques, les terrains extérieurs et le stationnement. Ce rôle combine des tâches techniques d’entretien avec un service de conciergerie afin d’assurer une expérience impeccable pour les locataires et visiteurs.

  • Responsabilités Principales 1.

    Entretien du Bâtiment
    • Effectuer des inspections quotidiennes des étages, aires communes, cages d’escalier, ascenseurs et salles mécaniques.

  • • Réaliser des réparations de base (plomberie, électricité, éclairage, peinture, quincaillerie).
  • • Surveiller les systèmes CVAC et signaler toute anomalie.
  • • Vérifier le fonctionnement des systèmes d’accès et de sécurité.

    Extérieur & Stationnement
    • Inspecter le périmètre, le paysagement et les quais de livraison.

  • • Maintenir la propreté du stationnement et vérifier l’éclairage extérieur.
  • • Coordonner le déneigement et l’entretien saisonnier.

    Support aux Locataires & Visiteurs
    • Servir de point de contact professionnel pour les locataires.

  • • Répondre rapidement aux demandes d’entretien.
  • • Faciliter l’accès des entrepreneurs et des livraisons.
  • 4.

    Entretien Préventif & Sécurité
    • Effectuer les tâches d’entretien préventif planifiées.
