Property Cleaner

We are currently seeking a Property Cleaner to support day‑to‑day cleaning operations at Avalon Park – a vibrant, family‑oriented community in Ottawa’s St. Laurent neighbourhood just east of downtown. This hands‑on role is ideal for an energetic, reliable cleaner committed to supporting a community of more than 800 residents, where you’ll play a key role in maintaining modern, high‑quality living spaces.
Responsibilities   Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
Clean and sanitize bathrooms, laundry rooms, and common areas to ensure high hygiene standards.
Empty garbage and ensure that waste is disposed of safely and properly.
Perform occasional deep cleaning including scrubbing baseboards, cleaning appliances, and refinishing floors.
Respond to any cleaning work orders submitted by the property management team.
Occasionally engage in snow removal during winter months.
Report any maintenance or repair issues to the property operations team.
Follow all safety protocols and use all assigned personal protective equipment appropriately.
Qualifications   Previous experience in commercial or residential cleaning, janitorial services, or housekeeping is considered a strong asset, but is not required.
Comfortable working both independently and part of a team.
Ability to perform a variety of repetitive physical tasks, including bending, kneeling, lifting, and walking for extended periods of time.
Basic English verbal communication skills.
Friendly, respectable, and community‑minded with strong interpersonal skills.
Successful completion of a criminal record check.
Ability to provide professional references and have a proven record of reliable work attendance.
Additional Details   Primary work location will be at Avalon Park; located at 2470 Southvale Crescent, Ottawa.
The ideal candidate lives close enough to Avalon to respond quickly to emergency resident inquiries (within about 10–15 minutes).
This role requires participation in an on‑call rotation schedule.
The expected hourly rate for this position is between $18 - $20 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidates’ skills, experience, and other job‑related requirements.
