for the role
• Provides a leadership role ensuring employee health and safety. Monitors and drives improvements in incident rates.
• Supervises all preventive & corrective production maintenance for the site.
• Oversees any problems of material and relevant technical information to ensure continual improvement of planned work execution.
• Manages and oversees all work orders for production maintenance.
• Ensures that all PM & CM are completed to the highest quality standard compliance, planning accuracy, backlog aging, and budgetary compliance.
• Works closely with Utility maintenance, and all Grifols departments, provides open communication with the employees, keeps all informed of maintenance activities, progress of jobs, issues.
• Addresses notifications provided by Grifols employees and contractors which relate to production maintenance.
• Identifies contractors for the maintenance of Grifols assets, works with procurement to establish contracts when required, ensures completion of work satisfied contractual obligations and meet Grifols standards.
• Supports and complies with environmental management system.
• Is capable of making decisions independently but always informs the manager and other senior management if applicable.
• Supervises subordinates to assure compliance with cGMP, OSHA and HES policies and procedures as performed during troubleshooting, calibrations, preventative maintenance, shutdown and project activities.
• Develops skills in reporting non-technical status against business parameters.
• Assists, trains and develops subordinates to the highest level of their abilities.
• Supervises the day-to-day activities of Maintenance technicians.
• Assigns priorities of both scheduled and unscheduled work to assure a minimum impact of production operations while using the most cost effective compliant methods.
• Chairs inter/intra-departmental teams.
• Supported systems consist of, but are not limited to, various Distributed Control Systems, PLC’s, Process Instrumentation, various styles of pumps, valves, and mechanical systems.
• Provides oversight to ensure SOP/PM compliance in accordance with plant engineering and cGMP standards.
• Provides oversight for detailed documentation of all Maintenance activities.
Qualifications required:
• College degree in a technical field or any other combination of qualifications and competencies judged appropriate, vocational certifications, skills trade license.
• Must have a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in maintenance, preferably in a GMP or FDA regulated environment with at least 5 yrs in a leadership role preferred.
• Must have strong trouble shooting abilities to identify and resolve equipment problems.
• Has good mechanical, electrical and automation competencies.
• Working knowledge of building automation systems.
• Demonstrates leadership skills. Must be able to work with little supervision in a multitask environment.
• Should be proactive and results oriented, with strong attention to detail and able to complete work in a timely manner.
• Must be a team player, capable of communicating professionally with all levels of personnel.
• Grifols is a 24-hour per day, 7 days a week operation; and will be required to work off shifts as deemed necessary.
• May also be required to be on call, on a rotating basis. Must be able to change shifts or be on call at the request of the manager.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• SAP proficiency preferred.
• Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
