They are entrepreneurial, innovative and highly collaborative and are looking for Maintenance Technicians who are comfortable taking initiative, working hands‑on, taking on a variety of responsibilities and contributing to the success of their real estate operations.
The Maintenance Technician is an important member of the property team, responsible for responding to resident service requests and helping ensure that rental communities are maintained to high standards of quality, cleanliness, and safety. This is a full‑time, on‑site position.
KeyDuties & Responsibilities
- Respond to resident maintenance requests promptly, professionally, and courteously.
- Prepare vacant apartments for new residents and ensure they are ready for occupancy. This may include painting, carpet cleaning and repairs, general maintenance, and housekeeping.
- Perform a variety of maintenance and repair functions, including plumbing, pool maintenance, air conditioning, heating, general carpentry, appliance repairs, electrical work, painting, caulking, snow removal, and the safe use of maintenance and safety equipment.
- Maintain the property's grounds, pools, common areas, and dog parks, ensuring these spaces remain clean, well maintained, free of debris, and safe for residents.
- Respond to emergency situations on an on‑call basis or according to schedules established by the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager.
- Identify and report maintenance matters that may impact the property's budget, safety equipment, vacant units, property condition, or common areas.
- Follow applicable provincial, local, and federal legislation, codes, policies, and procedures relating to residential property maintenance.
- Participate in required training programs and maintain knowledge of relevant maintenance practices and requirements.
- Deliver consistently high-quality customer service and represent the organization professionally when interacting with residents, colleagues, contractors, and the public.
- Complete assigned work accurately, efficiently, and within established timelines.
- Properly maintain, protect, and care for all company‑provided tools, equipment, and resources.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Fluency in French and English required.
- Previous experience in construction, building mechanics, plumbing, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to independently perform basic maintenance, repair, and property upkeep tasks.
- Working knowledge of the safe operation and use of maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and understand procedures, safety requirements, and equipment operating and maintenance instructions.
- Ability to complete routine written reports and documentation.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional, courteous, and resident‑focused approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative and managing assigned responsibilities independently.
- Must be available to work shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., Sunday through Saturday, based on operational requirements.
- Willingness to participate in required training and emergency/on‑call responsibilities.
