Job Overview

Job description 165 tonnes rely on our expertise. Safran Landing Systems is a global leader in landing gear, wheels, and brakes and associated systems for civil and military aircraft. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to manufacturing major landing gear components for Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, and the Boeing 787. The facility features state‑of‑the‑art equipment for machining, polishing and special processes, including heat treatment, shot peening and surface treatments.

The manager is responsible for all operations across a value chain to ensure performance in delivery, production, efficiency, quality and health, safety and environment (HSE). They supervise methods agents and manufacturing employees in the finishing department (blasting, plating, painting and finishing grinding).

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Delegate tasks and decisions to the team according to their abilities to promote engagement with team objectives and autonomy.
  • Guide and assist the team to resolve problems and make decisions simply and effectively.
  • Implement what is necessary to execute the production plan and meet delivery commitments.
  • Identify and anticipate problematic situations and obtain support from a resource (maintenance, quality, HR, etc.) to solve issues.
  • Facilitate necessary changes to adapt to new realities.
Production
  • Work with the Planning team to monitor the production plan and adjust as needed to meet objectives.
  • Ensure availability and optimization of resources to maximize workforce efficiency.
  • Manage workforce movements, ensuring optimal multi‑skilling of manufacturing employees in the area.
Human Resources
  • Ensure compliance with company rules, procedures and policies, including the collective agreement.
  • Ensure development of team members' skills following existing processes and policies.
Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
  • Work with HSE teams to conduct awareness activities and ensure application of HSE rules and policies in the area.
  • Participate in accident / incident investigations.
  • Ensure inspections, analyses and associated action plans are completed (e.g. 5S, IGP, ergonomics, occupational health and safety, ...).
Quality
  • Work with quality teams to raise operator awareness of quality requirements (internal and external).
  • Drive and manage operational problem‑solving activities (RPO / 8D).
  • Ensure achievement of sector quality objectives and performance (e.g. NC, rework, scrap, complaints, ...).

Requirements
  • Relevant university degree or equivalent experience.
  • Approximately 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
