Machining Production Manager

Role Overview

The manager is responsible for all operations of a value chain to ensure performance in terms of delivery, production, efficiency, quality, and health, safety, and environment (HSE). The manager supervises methods agents, operational programmers, and manufacturing employees.

• Delegate tasks and decisions to the team based on capabilities to foster commitment and autonomy.
• Guide and assist the team in solving problems and making decisions efficiently.
• Implement necessary actions to ensure execution of the production plan and meet delivery schedules.
• Identify and anticipate problematic situations and obtain help from relevant resource persons (maintenance, quality, HR).
• Create and maintain an engaging work environment that encourages accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with company rules and policies, including collective agreements, and impose disciplinary measures if needed.
• Communicate effectively within the team and across departments.
• Work with HSE teams to raise awareness and ensure compliance with HSE rules and policies.
• Encourage risk reporting and participation in solution finding.
• Ensure completion of inspections, analyses, and action plans.
• Collaborate with the Planning team to monitor and adjust the production plan.
• Ensure availability and optimization of resources for workforce efficiency.
• Manage labor movements for optimal versatility of manufacturing employees.
• Work with quality teams to raise operator awareness of quality (internal and external).
• Ensure dynamics and performance of operational problem‑solving (RPO/8D).
• Ensure achievement of quality objectives and sector performance.
• Support continuous improvement activities.

• Relevant university degree or equivalent experience.
• Approximately 10 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
• Experience in a unionised manufacturing environment.

Excellent oral and written communication in French and English.
