Functions as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team under the direct supervision of a Unit Manager or Director of Care to meet residents’ care needs.

Education Required:- Standard First Aid or Basic Life Support- CPR/Choking Adult
- Recognized Pharmacology Course and experience in the administration of medications
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia
- Alzheimer’s Disease Course preferred
- RNs will work within the CRNNS Scope of Practice
- Ability to work 8-hr and/or 12-hr shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays included)
- Effective communication both written and verbal in English with residents, families and co-workers
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in all aspects of the organization
- Possesses exemplary Customer Service skills
- Reliable with good attendance and cheerful disposition
- Must take initiative and able to work with minimum supervision
- Respectful and hardworking team player
- Demonstrate the use of proper body mechanics
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment
- Experience in a long-term care or similar environment is considered an asset
- Criminal Record Check including the Vulnerable Sector Screening in the last 3 months is required
