Job Description
We are currently seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and reliable  Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)  to join our team on the  Night Shift  at a modern long-term care residence dedicated to providing exceptional, resident-centered care in a welcoming environment that promotes comfort, dignity, and safety.

As an RPN, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality nursing care while supporting residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being during overnight hours.

Position Summary
The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) reports to the Director of Care and is responsible for providing high-quality, resident-focused nursing care. This role includes leadership, supervision, and education of the healthcare team while ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, and individualized care in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver direct nursing care based on individualized care plans.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while maintaining accurate documentation.

Monitor residents' health status and promptly communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team and physician.

Develop and update resident care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the care team.

Supervise and support Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and other nursing staff.

Promote resident-centered care in accordance with the Residents' Bill of Rights.

Participate in resident assessments, admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Ensure compliance with long-term care standards, infection prevention and control (IPAC) practices, and workplace safety protocols.

Conduct shift rounds to ensure continuity of care.

Monitor and manage nursing supplies and equipment.

Respond to resident and family concerns with professionalism and empathy.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing staff education.

Qualifications

Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience (long-term care experience preferred).

Current CPR certification.

Knowledge of RAI-MDS; AIS certification is required or must be obtained within one year of hire.

Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of long-term care legislation, infection prevention and control (IPAC) practices, and quality standards.

Compassionate and resident-focused approach to care.

French language skills are considered an asset.
