Registered Practical Nurse, Inpatient Surgery – Part-Time

Position: Registered Practical Nurse, Inpatient Surgery – Permanent Part-Time (0.5)
Position Summary  Compensation Pay Range: $30.41-$37.35 per hour.
The nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for individual patients and families, using the nursing process and standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, the hospital, and the patient service unit. The nurse provides learning experiences for patients and families, promoting wellness and optimal quality of life, and maintains professional competence.
Responsibilities   Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individual patients/families.
Use the nursing process effectively and adhere to standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, the hospital, and the patient service unit.
Provide appropriate learning experiences to patients and families to promote wellness.
Maintain competence while developing professional nursing practice.
Qualifications   Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (essential).
Current CPR certification (essential).
Minimum 2 years of pediatric experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (essential).
Evidence of culturally sensitive nursing care (essential).
Evidence of strong family‑centered care skills (essential).
Vulnerable sector check (essential).
Bilingual (English/ French) – preferred.
Location  Ottawa. The position is based in Ottawa and may change location at the employer’s discretion.
