Contract:

Temporary Full-Time (1.0 FTE) for a 12-week period
Full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours with CHEO for a minimum of six months after completing the NGG program.

NGG Program  CHEO is proud to participate in the Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) Program again this year! What is the NGG Program? The Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) is a program funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. This program is designed to support newly graduated RNs and RPNs, as well as Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) who are within twelve (12) months of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).

The intent of the NGG program is to:
Provide support to new nurses in Ontario as they transition into practice;
Improve the integration of new nurses into the workforce;
Promote the availability of full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours for new nurses; and Promote health workforce planning at the organizational level.

Main Responsibilities  As a new graduate transitioning into practice, during the 12-week orientation and training program, incumbents will receive invaluable coaching, feedback and mentorship in a clinical setting while performing in the scope of the RN role and supporting patient care.
Commitment  These positions will work in a fixed term contract of 1.0 FTE (Temporary Full-time) for a 12-week period. The new graduate will commit to accepting full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours with their NGG employer (CHEO) for a minimum of six (6) months after completing the NGG program transition into practice period.
Qualifications   Canadian-educated Registered Nurses (RN)’s or Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) who are within twelve (12) months of registering with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and who have not previously worked as a nurse in Ontario.
We are seeking Canadian Educated Nurses who have:  Graduated in Canada with a BA or BScN in Nursing from an accredited academic institution.
Completed their nursing education outside of Canada.
Match with an employer on the NGG online portal within twelve (12) months of registering with the CNO.
Not been employed as a nurse in Ontario…
