Animal Husbandry Technician at McGill

Reporting to the Farm General Manager, your responsibilities will include administering medical treatments, maintaining herd health records, and participating in research trials. Strong skills in animal health, attention to detail, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks are crucial for success. This position also involves collaboration with the Dairy team and providing training for new hires.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer treatments including injections and oral medications

• Observe and document animal health conditions

• Input and manage data using DSA Laitier and Del Pro software

• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of milking equipment

• Assist in the care of calves and postpartum protocols

Requirements:

• DEC III in Animal Health Technology required

• Two years' experience with large farm animals

• Bilingual in English and French

• Strong attention to detail in record-keeping

• Valid driver’s license is mandatory
