Location: Baie-D'UrfeSummary:
Reporting directly to the Regional Manager of Quality and Food Safety Canada, the Quality Assurance Manager will work closely with the Operations, Sales, Logistics and Engineering/ Maintenance departments by providing leadership to maintain the facilities Food Safety and Quality programs, ensuring our products meet or exceed the quality standards and food safety requirements of the company and our customers.
The QA Manager will lead and develop the QA and Sanitation departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, implement, maintain and monitor HAACP / Preventive Control Plans and Food Safety and Quality programsLead all audits - GFSI Certification and customerLead with respect to Foreign Material PreventionWorks closely with a variety of departments (Operations, Logistics, Production, Engineering/Maintenance) to ensure Food Safety and Quality programs are maintainedLeads Internal audit program is performed as per the Internal Audit Program and presents findings during daily and weekly meetings. Follow up on CAPA’s to ensure closureMaintain and improve quality systems by continuous improvement of HACCP / Preventive Control Plans and Food Safety and Quality programs against the BRC StandardProvide immediate feedback to management team with regards to food safety and quality issuesMain contact with regulatory agencies and third party auditorsMotivate and recognize employees to continue to build and develop a strong Food Safety Culture within the facilityLead with regards to customer/consumer complaints and communicate daily and weekly during meeting to management teamLiaison for all customers communication and requestsKeep Regional Manager QA and Food Safety Canada aware of any problems/issues/concernsOther duties and projects as assignedMinimum
Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications/
Experience:
Post-secondary education in food science, chemistry or related fieldsFood Manufacturing experience – 3 – 5 yearsQA Manager experience – 3 – 5 yearsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Sound knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and GFSI principles and programs – BRC and HACCP Certified an assetExcellent computer skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Statistical software)Good working knowledge of Statistical Process Control in an industrial environmentFast learner, able to multi-task, self-motivated, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy of informationGood written and verbal communication skills. Preference given to bilingual candidatesPositive attitude and professional approach. Positively interact with all plant employees – promote productive relationships based on credibility and trustAbility to multi-task and work in a highly organized fashion with attention to detail and accuracyGood understanding of production - plant and office proceduresProven leader with strong leadership skills with proven track record in developing teams.
