Site Configuration Management Specialist

Project Context

Our client has been awarded the extension of the Montreal STM Blue Line and will act as prime contractor for the first time on this project. In addition to line extension, STM has mandated a full CBTC network migration, creating significant needs for site quality and configuration expertise.

The position is open to support these growing operational demands and to ensure rigorous site configuration, installation quality, and field supervision throughout the deployment.

Responsibilities

Site Configuration – 40%

  • Perform on‑site quality inspections to ensure rail installations meet required standards and internal processes.
  • Use configuration and quality tools (installer tablets, specific procedures, SAP/back‑office systems) to document, track, and validate configuration data.
  • Ensure correct application of configuration processes and maintain full traceability of installation activities.
  • Coordinate with installation teams to confirm proper setup before testing and commissioning phases.
  • Support occasional night‑shift operations (~25%) for configuration checks, short installation tasks, or field testing.

Site Quality Inspection – 40%

  • Conduct quality inspections on brownfield (existing operational) rail infrastructure with minimal disruption to service.
  • Identify non‑conformities, raise quality issues, and follow up on corrective action plans.
  • Verify compliance with technical standards, project requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Prepare thorough inspection reports, defect logs, and follow‑up documentation.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and project teams to resolve quality deviations in a timely manner.
  • Supervise specific site installation activities and coordinate field technicians and contractors.
  • Monitor progress, ensure alignment with planning, and escalate deviations where necessary.
  • Verify that installations match drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical clarifications to contractors when required.
  • Ensure site readiness: safety compliance, materials availability, and appropriate working conditions.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in site quality inspection (on‑site inspections, quality checks).
  • Experience in the rail industry
    .
  • Experience in industrial or brownfield environments
    .
  • Motivation to grow from a site‑focused role to a more project‑oriented position.
  • Ability to use new software, especially SAP.
