- Develop and implement comprehensive security plans tailored to the specific needs of Smardt's operations, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities within the organization and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish security protocols that enhance the overall safety of personnel and assets.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing security measures, making necessary adjustments to improve response times and incident management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related inquiries, providing guidance and support to staff and management.
- Organize and lead training sessions for employees on security awareness and emergency response procedures, fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services to ensure a coordinated response to incidents and maintain strong community relations.
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, investigations, and compliance audits, presenting findings to senior management for review and action.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in security technology, recommending new tools and systems that could enhance Smardt's security posture.
- Assist in the development of emergency response plans, ensuring that all employees are familiar with procedures in case of an emergency.
- Participate in regular security drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of response plans and improve team readiness.
- Review and update security policies and procedures regularly to reflect changes in regulations or organizational needs.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a security management or coordination role, preferably within a corporate or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of security protocols, risk assessment methodologies, and emergency response planning.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective security strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in using security management software and tools, as well as standard office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to workplace safety and security.
- Certification in security management or related fields (e.g., CPP, PSP) is an asset.
- Experience in the HVAC or manufacturing industry, providing insight into specific security challenges faced in these sectors.
- Familiarity with advanced security technologies, such as surveillance systems and access control solutions.
- Bilingualism in French and English, enhancing communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Previous experience in emergency management or crisis response roles.
- A background in law enforcement or military service can be beneficial.
