Position: Ottawa Settlement Counsellor Role
Become a Settlement Counsellor in Ottawa with the Catholic Centre for Immigrants, providing comprehensive support for newcomers in need. Engage clients directly with essential settlement information and resources.

In this full-time position, you will work under the Program Manager to address immediate settlement needs through orientation and referrals. You will perform case management, develop action plans, and facilitate workshops that empower clients in their integration journey. Your understanding of social service practices and resources will be crucial in ensuring effective guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer information and referrals in individual and group settings

• Coordinate services and prepare settlement action plans

• Advocate for clients while connecting them to resources

• Document services and client interactions thoroughly

• Lead and develop engaging workshops for clients

Requirements:

• Educational background in Social Services or related field

• Minimum two years of experience in social services

• Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills

• Familiarity with community resources for newcomers

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
