Join the YMCA of the National Capital Region as a Retention Specialist, where your focus will be on empowering individuals in their employment journeys. This community-driven role involves key support for individuals facing employment barriers.
As a Retention Specialist, you will engage with clients, assess their needs, and implement effective strategies to enhance job retention and success. You'll be involved with case management tasks including development, monitoring of training agreements, and job placement. Your work will contribute to strategic targets, fostering long-lasting employment relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in developing suitable work habits for clients
• Identify and connect with employers for job opportunities
• Monitor and evaluate clients’ training plans
• Act as a communication bridge between clients and employers
• Conduct research on potential employment opportunities
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in Employment Counseling or Social Work
• Related experience in job development or counselling
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Intermediate computer skills, especially in data management
• Capacity to work with diverse backgrounds and challenges
