The Batshaw Youth and Family Centres, located in Westmount, are seeking criminologists for full-time permanent and temporary positions within the Evaluation and Orientation (EO) Service for Youth Protection (DPJ) reports.

What will you do in practice?
You will work with English-speaking children and families from diverse communities, some of whom may be facing neglect, abuse, or personal or family challenges.
Within the Evaluation and Orientation (EO) Service
, you will analyze reports and implement the necessary protective measures when a child’s safety or development is at risk.

Your day-to-day mission:
- Go into the field to meet children, families, and professionals;
- Quickly assess situations, including risks, needs, safety, and the child’s development;
- Propose concrete and safe solutions (living environment, resources, interventions);
- Develop and implement intervention plans tailored to each youth;
- Support parents and guide youth in developing positive behaviors;
- Facilitate activities that promote adaptation, rehabilitation, and social reintegration;
- Clarify the child’s life plan and facilitate their integration into their environment;
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team with legal professionals, physicians, specialists, and other network professionals;
- Write reports, document case files, and contribute to the improvement of clinical tools.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The ideal candidate :
- Is a member of the OPCQ (or in the process of becoming a member).
- Is fluent in English and French.
- Has a valid driver’s license and access to a car.
- Is adaptable and able to manage changing priorities.
