Location: Montreal (administrative region)
Become part of Makivvik Corporation’s mission to provide a safe shelter for women and children in Montreal. This role centers on client support, safety planning, and community reconnection.
As a full-time or part-time Residential Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for residents. Key responsibilities include conducting intake procedures, monitoring safety, and offering emotional support. You will collaborate with a team dedicated to providing wraparound services that are trauma-informed and culturally appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct intake and initial safety planning for residents
• Monitor safety and respond to emergencies in the shelter
• Provide emotional support to women and children
• Assist residents with resource access and appointments
• Maintain a structured living environment
Requirements:
• Diploma in social work or related field (preferred)
• Understanding of trauma-informed practices
• Experience in shelters or social services preferred
• Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques
• Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism
Support culturally safe practices while making a difference for Inuit families fleeing violence.
