Position: Software Developer II (IOS)
Overview  We are seeking an iOS Software Engineer to join the CNN Mobile Engineering Team. The Engineer is an individual contributor, self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision, and will tackle difficult technical challenges. The role contributes to technical direction, supports Principal Engineers/Architects and Senior Engineers in defining technology strategy and implementation, and partners with Product, Design and Delivery Leaders to deliver CNN Digital consumer experiences.
This position supports iOS mobile applications and interacts with Android app platforms, mobile backend APIs, mobile CI/CD tools, and testing automation. It is a great opportunity for someone passionate about building mobile apps for News audiences and delivering innovative user experiences using CNN’s technology stack.
Responsibilities   Build intuitive, simple and elegantly designed mobile apps that people want to use.
Provide support and development of software tools and procedures to extend and enhance the core production pipeline.
Collaborate with Product, Design, Delivery, Editorial and Engineering to implement CNN Digital consumer experience solutions and apps.
Assist with troubleshooting production problems, root-cause analysis, and debugging.
Develop and maintain existing production systems supporting CNN’s digital ecosystem.
Ensure software development follows industry best practices and CNN Digital strategy, including architecture, security, governance, coding standards, monitoring, logging, unit tests, and service enablement.
Qualifications & Experience   BS/MS in computer science (or equivalent).
Demonstrated advanced understanding of troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, application design, solution development, usability design, and enterprise projects.
Minimum 2 years professional development experience.
Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.
Ability to develop new and innovative applications and maintain existing code.
Full-mobile stack development experience with mobile native clients, SDKs, and APIs (Swift/Objective-C, Swift

UI, iOS platform).
Expert knowledge of software development methodologies, architecture, and building performant, scalable, and secure mobile apps.
Hands-on experience with mobile Dev Ops CI/CD tools and deployment automation, code signing, and automated tests. Familiarity with Git and Bitrise preferred.
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience designing flexible software architectures to accommodate changing business needs.
The Nice to Haves   Knowledge of Cloud Computing platforms such as Amazon AWS.
General familiarity with database technologies (SQL/RDBMS, No

SQL, Graph

DB, etc.).

Compensation:
In compliance with local law where required, pay range is $ - $ per year, with base pay being one component of total compensation. Benefits include health coverage, wellness programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings, paid holidays, and vacation. This is a newly created position.
