The Role

Aspen Tech is looking for a talented and energetic Developer to join the Enterprise Operations Platform (EOP) organization. In this position, you will be a member of an Agile development team responsible for the delivery of our next-generation industrial software
platform. This solution will provide a software defined, data-centric, flexible platform which enables automation for Aspen Tech’s diverse customer base in a variety of critical infrastructures.

This role’s contributions have highly visible impacts on the success and scalability of our software offerings to our customers. This includes designing robust data pipelines for OT environments, implementing governance frameworks, and ensuring reliable data
delivery and automation.

Your Impact

Develop and maintain data connector and ingestion services for a variety of industrial data protocols OPC-UA, MQTT, Kafka, ODBC, Modbus)

Implement data contextualization for a variety of use cases and create automated workflows for internal and external usage

Integrate with AI-powered functionality AI function calls, predictive analytics, anomaly detection, generative AI) within the platform.

Ensure platform scalability and uptime for high-volume industrial data

Embed observability logs, metrics, lineage, and alerts customers can utilize

Document and version APIs and schemas for customer-facing usage

Support the governance of data by applying access controls and compliance policies

Define and enforce platform-level policies so that other applications suites can effectively utilize shared services.

Actively participate with team members as part of a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) organization.

Mentor and guide junior developers and influence architectural decisions across the team.

Take high level strategic requirements and work with a team to refine them into actionable user stories with detailed acceptance criteria.

Produce reliable, performant, and fault tolerant code to meet strategic business objectives.

Contribute to a culture of accountability and collaboration across a variety of support, development, security, and product teams.

Continually demonstrate adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements.

Stay current with industry trends and best practices around cloud native and Software-as-a-Service technologies and recommend adoption strategies aligned with business goals.

Demonstrate effective communication skills as a participant in a variety of Agile ceremonies.

What You'll Need

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

12-15 years of related experience OR an advanced degree with less experience.

A detailed understanding and working experience with cloud native technologies, services, and architecture.

Detailed knowledge of IoT or Edge devices and an understanding of their strengths, weaknesses, constraints, and risks.

Experience with Agile development frameworks such as SAFe or Scrum.

Strong personal project management skills; able to be self-directed and capable of working effectively in an environment with a high degree of change.

Willingness to contribute ideas and solutions while honoring and supporting the ideas of others.

Strong object-oriented design and debugging skills.

Work in person at our office in Medina the majority of the week.
