Senior Shopify Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Shopify Developer to play a critical role in our fast-growing agency to manage product development while also supporting high-impact client initiatives as a senior technical contributor.

This role is hands-on and execution-focused, with additional responsibility for technical architecture, code quality, and guiding other developers. You will act as a technical lead on product work streams and select client projects.

• Lead the end-to-end development of Shopify-based products, including custom apps, storefront extensions, and internal tooling.
• Own technical decisions related to architecture, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Establish and maintain best practices for deployments, versioning, and CI/CD workflows.
• Support client discovery and solution design by translating business requirements into technical architecture.
• Design and review Shopify system architectures, including integrations with ERP, POS, payments, and third-party platforms.
• Serve as a senior technical advisor on Shopify capabilities, including Shopify Functions, UI Extensions, and custom app patterns.
• Provide technical oversight for client-facing development work to ensure alignment with best practices.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to uphold internal engineering standards.
• Provide guidance and technical direction to other developers through reviews, pairing, and documentation.
• Contribute to internal documentation, architectural decision records, and reusable patterns.

• Build a Shopify product from the ground up with real ownership and impact.
• Work on complex, enterprise-grade Shopify implementations.
• Collaborate closely with leadership and influence technical direction.
• Join a growing consultancy with deep expertise in unified commerce.

• You are highly autonomous and comfortable owning complex technical problems end to end.
• You communicate clearly and confidently, especially in client-facing technical discussions.
• You are pragmatic and delivery-oriented, balancing speed with long-term code quality.
• You enjoy mentoring other developers and raising the technical bar of the team.
• You are comfortable moving between deep product build work and client advisory responsibilities.

• 5+ years of professional web development experience, with deep expertise in Shopify.
• Proven experience building custom Shopify apps and advanced storefront customizations.
• Strong understanding of Shopify APIs, GraphQL, and modern frontend and backend development patterns.
• Experience designing scalable architectures for high-growth or enterprise Shopify merchants.

• Experience with Shopify POS, ERP integrations, or unified commerce environments.
• Prior consulting or agency experience.
• Exposure to multi-store, multi-region, or high-volume Shopify deployments.
