The Software Test Technical Lead within the Magnetic Anomaly Detection (MAD) Engineering group leads the verification and validation (V&V) team to ensure software releases undergo rigorous testing in accordance with internal software development processes. The role is responsible for defining testing strategies, executing test activities, and reporting results to management to support high-quality software deliveries. In collaboration with project managers, technical leads, and development teams, the Software Test Technical Lead determines testing needs, proposes solutions, and drives continuous improvement to achieve reliable and compliant software products.
The role leads qualification, verification, and validation activities for MAD software, including avionics, signal processing and performance, user interfaces, and supporting tools.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and review test strategies, test plans, and test cases for core products and customer deliveriesPlan, estimate, execute, monitor, and report testing activities for internal and external software releasesWrite and review documentation, including user manuals, integration guides, training materials, and test reportsCoach, guide, and support team members in test-related activitiesRecommend release adjustments related to scope and schedule based on software quality and business valueSupport technical leads with requirements definition, traceability between requirements and test artifacts, and process gate complianceTrack and ensure software issues (“snags”) are recorded in the Quality Management System (QMS) with sufficient detail to support investigationSupport compliance with the MAD AS9100 / AS9115 quality management systemMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of training and experienceMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience in software testing or verification and validationAt least 1 year of experience working in a highly regulated environment (e.g., transportation, aviation, health)Demonstrated writing and documentation skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityCollaborative mindset and continuous learning orientationBilingualism (English & French) requiredPreferred Qualifications
Experience leading a software test team for an embedded productExperience using IBM DOORS or equivalent requirements management toolsBenefits
