Java Spark Developer

Role Overview: We are seeking a mid-senior Java Spark Developer to join our team in Montreal. The successful candidate will focus on high-volume data processing and distributed computing within a data-intensive environment. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, expert-level coding skills in Java and Spark, and a commitment to maintaining high performance through optimization and rigorous testing.
Core Responsibilities:

• Data Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain high-volume data processing applications using Java and Apache Spark.
• Performance Optimization: Write, query, and optimize complex SQL statements to handle large-scale datasets efficiently.
• Distributed Computing: Implement and support distributed computing solutions to address complex business requirements.
• AI/Model Support: Assist in building and supporting applications by managing data context, utilizing basic prompts, and conducting foundational model testing.
• Analytical Execution: Leverage strong data analysis skills to drive insights and ensure the accuracy and reliability of data outputs.

Technical Requirements (Mandatory):

• Core Java: Advanced proficiency in Java application development.
• Apache Spark: Proven hands-on experience in building and optimizing Spark-based data pipelines.
• SQL: Expert-level experience in querying, database optimization, and managing large datasets.

Professional Experience:

• Experience: 5 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Seniority: Mid-Senior level proficiency; ability to work independently.

Position Logistics:

• Onsite Requirement: This role requires the candidate to work from the office 3 days per week starting from Day 1.

• Compensation: Competitive base salary range of USD $70,676 $ 77,744.
