The Opportunity
Manufacturing powers the global economy at $50T a year and it relies heavily on human dexterity and skill to produce the goods we rely on every day. Yet manufacturers have little visibility when issues arise at manual assembly stations, impacting productivity and quality.
Assembler AI is changing that.
We use computer vision and artificial intelligence to help manufacturers improve quality, reduce waste, increase throughput, and enable frontline employees to perform at their best.
Backed by Diagram Ventures, we're building a category-defining company at the intersection of AI, manufacturing, and operational excellence.
The role
As a Senior Full Stack Software Developer, you'll design, build and ship the interfaces operators and engineers use to act on what
Operator Vision sees — from the dashboards that surface flagged events and video clips to the tools continuous improvement
engineers use every day. You'll work primarily in React/Next.js and contribute to the backend services that power those interfaces,
working closely with our Head of Engineering and the AI R&D team. You take pride in building and delivering high quality, highly
usable software with high velocity? This is for you!
What you'll do
- Design and build the frontend of Operator Vision in React/Next.js — from real-time dashboards showing flagged events and video
clips to the tools operators and continuous improvement engineers use every shift. - Turn design and product requirements into polished, accessible, production-ready UI, and help shape our design system and
frontend conventions as the team grows. - Participate in defining the product's frontend architecture, working closely with the Head of Engineering and Head of Product on
the tradeoffs that keep the interface fast and responsive as data volume grows. - Contribute to the backend, designing and evolving the backend services that support the features you build on the frontend,
working closely with the core backend developers. - Contribute to defining and putting in place development conventions — code standards, testing practices, and how the team uses
agentic coding tools to move faster without cutting corners. - Contribute to building the CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices that let the team ship fast, safely
What we're looking for
- Seasoned full stack engineer with deep, demonstrated expertise in React and Next.js, and a strong command of modern
TypeScript/JavaScript as well as backend stack. - 7+ years of professional software development experience, with a track record of owning full stack features end-to-end in
production. - Demonstrated expertise designing and shipping highly usable, performant and reliable web applications in production — not just in
theory. - Demonstrated expertise in contributing to backend code — APIs and database queries — in Python or a similarly high-level
language; you don't need to own infrastructure, but you're effective working below the UI layer.
- Experience with the stack we leverage in our platform, or equivalent:
- React, Next.js, Type Script
- FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Postgres - Demonstrated experience working as part of a startup, owning outcomes end-to-end, moving fast with limited resources, and
building scale before scale is guaranteed. - Demonstrated experience leveraging agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or Git Hub Copilot to meaningfully accelerate
development velocity. - Strong instincts for state management, data fetching, and building interfaces that stay reliable and fast under real-world
production load. - Experience with design systems and component libraries (nice to have).
- Experience with Test Driven Development methodology (nice to have).— code standards, testing practices, and how the team uses
agentic coding tools to move faster without…
