We are looking for a Drone Ground Station Software Developer – AWS & DO 178 to design and implement cutting‑edge ground control software for managing large fleets of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This role involves full‑stack development, intuitive responsive user interfaces and scalable cloud‑based back‑ends, emphasizing concurrent drone operations, situational awareness and mission control. You’ll collaborate with aerospace engineers, flight operators and systems integrators to deliver reliable, mission‑ready software.

• Develop and maintain ground station software to control and monitor large‑scale drone operations in real time.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and scale backend services on AWS to support real‑time data streams, command execution and mission logs.
• Collaborate with flight software teams to ensure seamless drone‑to‑ground communication and command reliability.
• Ensure all software meets aerospace‑grade requirements for performance, usability and fault tolerance.
• Experience in the aerospace, defense or UAV sector.
• Knowledge of secure software design and aerospace compliance (e.g., DO-178C).
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools such as AWS ECS.
• Experience with AWS Infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as AWS CDK and Cloud Formation.
• Strong systems thinking, with attention to safety, performance and reliability.
• Strong proficiency in Java for backend development.
• Experience with AWS cloud services including Lambda, S3, EC2, and API Gateway.
• Understanding of real‑time data handling, concurrency and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with UI/UX design principles for mission‑critical operator interfaces.
• Work can be done remotely.
• For employees based in Montreal, the work model is hybrid (at least one day at the office).
• The position might require travel to visit customers (in North America).
