Lumentum seeks an engineer with 5+ years in automation, test, or software engineering within a hardware environment. You will develop process and test automation while working with fiber optics, electronics, motion systems, and code. Key Responsibilities:
Own projects from requirements through manufacturing deployment
Integrate test, measurement, and automation equipment
Develop machine vision and inspection automation
Build data acquisition and analytics layers
Extend and modernize existing software
Requirements:
Engineering physics, electrical engineering, or similar degree
5+ years in automation, test, or software engineering
Strong programming fundamentals with C#/.NET and Python
Comfort with instruments, motion systems, fiber, cabling, and signals
Ability to deliver projects with minimal direction
Apply software engineering, machine vision, and hardware expertise to advance Lumentum’s Ottawa photonics manufacturing systems.
