On the road - Salary: 29.29 hourly / 40 hours per week
- Terms of employment:
Permanent employment, Full time
Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required.
Responsibilities- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques.
- Maintain professionalism in customer service.
- Load and unload goods.
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- Tarp cargo and ensure safety and security of goods.
