Summary
The Line Maintenance Coordinator / Maintenance Controller (AME‑MC) is a hybrid role, both operational and technical, combining hands‑on line maintenance tasks and certification authority, with delegated maintenance control responsibilities. This role ensures continued airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and operational reliability of departures by performing and certifying maintenance activities, coordinating internal and external work, and exercising maintenance control authority in accordance with the approved Maintenance Control System.
Responsibilities- Perform planned and unplanned line maintenance in accordance with OEM data, CARs and company manuals
- Support aircraft rotations, night maintenance, short‑notice operational requests and AOG situations
- Certify maintenance tasks and sign releases to service for work performed or supervised under ACA authority
- Ensure all maintenance actions are properly documented, traceable and compliant with technical record requirements
- Exercise authority to ground an aircraft when safety or airworthiness is compromised
- Apply and manage MEL/CDL deferrals, including MEL procedures, placarding, operational limitations and rectification tracking
- Act as primary maintenance control contact for flight crew, the Operations Control Center (OCC) and maintenance operations
- Provide real‑time technical support for departure decisions, scheduling and operations
- Assess and authorize defects according to the MEL/CDL and approved procedures within delegated authority limits
- Coordinate AOG events, on‑site and off‑site, including mobilization of approved external AMOs
- Valid Transport Canada AME licence (M2)
- 7 to 10+ years of aircraft maintenance experience
- Prior experience in maintenance control for a commercial air operator or fleet coordination
- Strong experience in line maintenance, defect assessment, MEL/CDL application and AOG decision‑making
- Excellent knowledge of CARs, MCM, MPM and OEM technical data
- Experience with maintenance tracking systems (CAMP, Traxxall, AMOS or equivalent)
