Overview
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Permanent full‑time position at Air Canada Montreal Maintenance Centre.
Location:
Montreal, QC, Canada (Onsite). Category:
Unionized (IAMAW). Salary: $39.48/hour (based on experience).
- Use the correct tools, methods, techniques and equipment required to perform aircraft maintenance.
- Read and understand schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting, and be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools.
- Act as a team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills, maintaining a customer‑focused attitude in demanding, high‑stress environments.
- Work independently using resources via phone and computer, displaying self‑motivation and confidence.

- High School diploma.
- Completed a recognized apprenticeship program or at least two years of industry‑related experience.
- Transport Canada AME‑E license (mandatory).
- Valid driver’s license (mandatory).
- Successfully pass the pre‑employment qualifying exam, physical and security check.
- Availability to work nights, evenings, days, weekends and holidays.
- Eligibility to work in Canada, responsible for obtaining any required work permits/visas.
- Pass and obtain an airside vehicle operator’s permit (mandatory).
- Possess a restricted radio operators permit (aviation).
- Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support team success in a fast‑paced environment.
- Obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations.
- Meet Air Canada medical standards; subject to medical evaluation, including drug and alcohol testing and expected to be free of intoxicating substances.
- Endorsements on Air Canada aircraft type.
- Current security clearance.
