Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Valley Manor Care Center, Montrose, CO
OverviewValley Manor Care Center is part of Volunteers of America National Services, a nonprofit health‑care organization.
CNA positions support residents in a long‑term care setting, providing routine nursing care under the direction of RN or LPN teams.
- Hourly Pay: $19.00 – $23.00 per hour, based on experience
- Evening & Night Shift Differential: $1.50 per hour
- Schedules:
Full and part‑time, 6 am 2 pm, 2‑10 pm, or 10 pm‑6 am; every other weekend required

- Assist residents with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, eating) and document activities of daily living.
- Perform shift routines and record vital signs, weights, and intake/output as directed.
- Feed residents and record accurate food and fluid intake; report any swallowing difficulties.
- Provide passive and active range‑of‑motion activities, ambulation, and safe mechanical transfers, using two trained staff and proper body mechanics.
- Answer call lights promptly and respond to assistive needs.
- Maintain cleanliness of beds, linens, and personal items; ensure residents’ appearance is neat and dignified.
- Adhere to standard precautions, infection‑control policies, and OSHA guidelines.
- Document changes in resident condition, skin status, or mental status; report promptly to the RN.
- Report suspected abuse or neglect and any equipment malfunction to the appropriate staff.
- Participate in nursing meetings, continuing education (12 hours annually), and required in‑services.
- Contribute to inter‑departmental communication and fulfill committee or extra duties as directed by the RN.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- State‑approved CNA certification (or enrollment in an approved program).
- Preferred:
Experience in long‑term or skilled nursing care. - Ability to perform essential functions safely, prioritize duties, work as a team, and use computers for documentation.
