Grampian Growers Ltd is a farmer‑owned co‑operative supplying UK and international markets with daffodil flowers and bulbs, and seed and ware potatoes. Founded in 1970, the business plays a key role in Scottish agriculture, supporting growers, rural employment, and sustainable farming.
We are recruiting an Agricultural Production Manager (Succession Role) to work alongside and shadow our current Production Manager ahead of their planned retirement.
The RoleThis is a hands‑on operational leadership role within a highly seasonal agricultural business. Over an initial 12‑month handover period
, you will work through all processing seasons — flowers, bulbs, and potatoes — gaining full exposure to systems, SOPs, and day‑to‑day decision‑making.
Subject to performance, the role is expected to progress to Production Manager following this structured handover.
You will support the management of 3 permanent staff and up to 30 seasonal and casual workers during peak periods.
Key Responsibilities- Support daily processing operations across flower, bulb, and potato seasons
- Organise labour, including seasonal staff, supervisors, and forklift drivers
- Coordinate grading, packing, loading, and dispatch for UK and export markets
- Assist with store management, intake planning, and stock movement records
- Arrange and oversee machinery setup, maintenance, cleaning, and repairs
- Liaise with growers, contractors, engineers, and labour suppliers
- Ensure safe working practices and compliance with operational requirements
- Experience in agricultural or production operations
- Comfortable leading people in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment
- Organised, practical, and calm under pressure
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with fresh produce, bulbs, and/or potato processing
- Mechanical or maintenance experience
- Full‑time role within a seasonal agricultural business
