Summary
In collaboration with the classroom team, responsible for assisting the Special Education Teacher with the implementation of effective academic and social‑emotional programming for assigned students.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities- Consistently applies the corporate values of respect, honesty and fairness and the constant pursuit of excellence in improving the health status of the people of the region through the provision of customer‑friendly, geographically‑accessible and high‑value services within the environment of a comprehensive integrated academic health system.
- Assists in the formulation of social‑emotional and behavioral programming consistent with students’ IEPs.
- Implements social‑emotional and behavioral programming consistent with students’ IEPs, including assistance with daily life activities such as toileting and self‑care.
- Collects and manages data on social‑emotional and behavioral functioning for assigned students.
- Prepares and presents verbal and/or written reports concerning social‑emotional and behavioral functioning for assigned students.
- Assists in implementation of the academic and social‑emotional curricula as directed by the classroom teacher and team leader.
- Provides academic support to students as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Prepares and submits required paperwork for the student record.
- Attends and participates in classroom team meetings, student‑related meetings, supervisory sessions, staff meetings, and other assigned meetings.
- Observes all Bradley Schools policies, rules, and regulations.
- Performs other duties as required, assigned, or directed.
- Baccalaureate Degree preferred with a major in education or related human service fields.
- Basic knowledge of data entry/management programs such as Excel; training will be provided upon hire for those without this background.
- Bradley Hospital Safety Care Certification.
- Prior experience working with children is helpful.
- Ability to work independently within department policies and practices; referral of complex problems to supervisor.
- Experience in a psychiatric setting under stressful conditions; demonstrated use of de‑escalation techniques and ability to remain calm during crises.
- Physical ability to lift up to fifty pounds, reach, grasp, bend/squat/kneel without limitation, and physically escort students who may become combative for short distances.

Pay Range$19.03–$31.39 per hour.
