Position SummaryThe Senior Web Applications Developer is accountable for the end-to-end design, development, delivery, and maintenance of complex, custom Internet applications, as well as providing advanced production support with minimal oversight. This role leads functional and technical analysis, including requirements gathering, systems architecture, design, programming, and comprehensive documentation for approved projects and initiatives. The incumbent will also drive root cause analysis for software defects in both production environments and applications under development, ensuring robust, scalable, and high-performing solutions.
PrimaryDuties And Responsibilities
- Develop organization-wide information models for designing and building integrated shared intranet/internet information management systems.
- Develop and implement middleware solutions to provide Internet access to application databases.
- Construct logical business improvement opportunities consistent with corporate information management guiding principles, cost savings, and open systems architecture objectives.
- Gather and compile technical information for scope of work definition, project documentation, design specification documents, functional requirements documentation, and other development deliverables.
- Adhere to standards of analysis, coding, naming conventions, and documentation as defined by Mohegan.
- Apply best practices in project management, programming, software development lifecycle, and rapid development concepts.
- Implement best practices of code management including source code control, production control practices, and standards of production systems access.
- Work independently with little or no supervision on moderately complex projects.
- Participate in peer code reviews for one's code or code produced by others.
- Participate in or conduct testing, including unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Participate in meetings, requirements sessions, and internal IT and business customer meetings.
- Contribute to system architecture designs and documentation when required.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of key business systems at Mohegan or similar businesses.
- Learn new programming and development skills as required.
- Document or assist in documenting programming problems for future reference.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of the software lifecycle and root cause analysis.
- Promote superior customer service.
- Support applications running in a 7 X 24 X 365 enterprise environment.
- Maintain accurate time reports for activities per Mohegan Information Technology policies.
- Document and protect Mohegan Sun intellectual property as required.
- Be on call either permanently or on a rotating schedule shared with others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Enforce privacy rules pursuant to HIPAA where applicable.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field with five years' work experience in a company setting responsible for development in one or more languages such as Springboot, HTML, Angular, SQL, XML, JAVA, .Net, JavaScript.
- At least three years of programming experience in a company environment supporting enterprise-level applications with greater than 5,000 employees.
- Experience as a backend Web Developer with a minimum of three years working with Adobe Experience Manager, DAYCQ console, Java Content Repository, and Digital Asset Management. Strong focus on server-side technologies including Java, Sling, OSGi, and building reusable AEM components.
- Strong understanding of core web technologies: XML, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery, XHTML, JSP, RESTful web services, tag libraries, and JSTL.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and related tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Ansible, Docker, and Linux.
- Solid grasp of web architecture concepts: responsive design, session management, caching, and cookies.
