Software development Engineer

Position: Software development Engineer - All gender
Overview Experteer Overview As a Software Developer for Control Systems, you will advance PLC and HMI software across Alfa Laval products within an Agile, cross-disciplinary team. You’ll contribute to autonomous operation goals by engineering, testing, and maintaining control software and HMIs, while aligning with global automation standards.

This role offers exposure to cutting-edge control systems and IoT initiatives in a collaborative, growth-minded environment.

Responsibilities Software engineering on PLC and HMI platforms, including feature breakdown, task specification, programming, testing, and deployment

Web-based HMI development using the company design language

Establishing global automation standards through cross-site collaboration

Working in sprints as part of a self-organizing team and contributing to product evolution

Maintaining previously released PLC/HMI software

Documentation and issue tracking related to the software lifecycle

Extensive PLC software development experience using ST/FBD and IEC-61131-3 languages

Proficiency in C and C++ or relevant embedded systems experience

Over 1 year of software development experience with PLC platforms or embedded systems

Proficiency configuring and programming VFDsExperience with industrial communication protocols (Prof Net, Ether Net/IP, Ethernet Powerlink, Ether

CAT, Modbus, Profibus, OPC-UA)

Experience with B&R, Siemens, and Allen-Bradley PLC platforms

Ability to read P&, electrical drawings, and FDSStrong English communication skills; customer-focused and team-orientedQualifications
