Laborer Telecom Aerial

Overview

We are looking for a Laborer to join our Aerial Crew team to help connect America. As a Laborer, Aerial Crew you will perform duties related to installing and repairing aerial telecommunications cable and ensure the scope of work performed is within the standards required by customers.

• Be the ground hand for technicians, provide parts as needed, move bucket truck as directed by technician.
• Ensure door-tagging and resident notification of construction activities have been completed prior to starting each workday.
• Ensure daily inspection and maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment is performed and documented. If appropriately licensed, drive company vehicles as needed to jobsite.
• Assist with aerial work; provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed.
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed.
• Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools.
• Direct/flag traffic flow in line with local DOT guidelines.
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/after-hours responsibilities as needed.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver’s license (not Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Certified pole climber or willingness to become certified
• Previous labor experience in telecommunications is a plus
• 0-1+ years of unskilled labor experience in telecommunications is a plus
• Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
• Knowledge of installation of aerial and underground cables and/or support members in conformance with applicable codes and customer specifications (e.g., NEC Electrical Code)

• Routinely work with arms above shoulder level, at heights, in confined spaces and remote locations; climb stairs, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 55 pounds; operate vehicle and heavy machinery
• Occasionally use a ladder, keyboard and mouse
