Job Title: Tax Associate
Location: Lenexa, KS / Mooresville, IN
Department / Team: Tax
Reports To: Managing Director
Job Overview: The Tax Associate supports a variety of tax-related activities, including tax preparation, responding to IRS notices, and providing software support such as Quick Books. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to deliver accurate and timely results while maintaining positive client relationships.

Core Responsibilities /
Key Duties:
- Perform tax preparation tasks, including gathering client information, preparing tax returns, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities with accuracy and compliance in mind.
- Draft and submit responses to IRS notices and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of tax-related issues.
- Maintain strong client relationships by serving as a primary point of contact and presenting tax-related information as needed.
- Provide Quick Books support and guidance to clients as needed.
Growth Targets / Professional Development:
- Actively pursue CPA or EA designation.
- Demonstrate consistent efficiency in tax preparation.
- Achieve minimal review comments on prepared returns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of tax preparation experience.
- Familiarity with Quick Books and other tax preparation software.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
