Position Summary

The Project Manager serves a pivotal role in ensuring seamless project execution from quoting to delivery. This position involves direct customer interaction, inside sales support, job setup, and oversight of production processes to deliver high-quality products on time. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment, balancing technical expertise with strong organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct customer support, including handling inquiries, quoting projects, processing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Customer Change Requests (CCRs), Purchase Orders (POs), and Order Acknowledgements.
  • Collaborates with the Engineering Assistant on job setups, material ordering, and discussions related to prints and designs.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive job folders in the system, incorporating all necessary prints, paperwork, certifications, 3D models, and CAD data for accurate recordkeeping and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare requisitions for purchasing materials, supplies, and tooling to support production needs.
  • Coordinate design activities as required for projects.
  • Partner with the Operations Manager and Division Manager to schedule deliveries, manage shop floor workload, and release jobs for production.
  • Oversee job progression through the shop, provide hands‑on floor support, and ensure timely completion.
  • Monitor and report on job status, including completeness, profitability, and any potential issues, in collaboration with operations teams.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities within the existing customer base; support outside sales efforts through quoting, application engineering, leveraging personal expertise, and participating in customer visits as needed.
  • Assist in organizing the shop to enhance proficiency, efficiency, and overall workflow.
  • Work the Quality Management Representative (QMR) to maintain ISO compliance across all processes.
  • Coordinate work between internal divisions and external vendors to ensure smooth project integration and execution.
Qualifications
  • Education
    :
    High School diploma required;
    Engineering degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Experience
    : 3+ years of experience in a related manufacturing or engineering industry.
  • Skills
    :
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solid Works, Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Preferred experience in machining and Mastercam software capabilities.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, team members, and stakeholders.
    • Strong problem‑solving abilities to address challenges in project execution and production processes.
    • Effective time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
    • Leadership qualities to guide cross‑functional teams and provide floor support.
    • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
    • Attention to detail for maintaining accurate records, ensuring quality, and monitoring profitability.
