Quality Technician/ Inspector, Quality Control / Manager
Our manufacturing facility is seeking Quality Control Technicians on all shifts who can test, document, troubleshoot, and ensure our products are for ready for shipping. The successful candidate will have a creative, innovative approach to their work and a background performing tests in a lab setting. This individual will conduct samples and testing in a lab setting and will work with various chemicals.
Visual and dimensional inspections for conformance are not relevant to this position. We are looking for highly organized, methodical, and detail-oriented professionals with the experience necessary to take our products to the next level in accordance with our QEHS policy. Training will take approximately 90 days and will be conducted on 1st shift (8:30a-5p).
- Inspect and test raw materials to ensure consistency and integrity
- Maintain, test, and troubleshoot all instrumentation devices
- Test a certain percentage of all products based on industry standards
- Report problems related to our QEHS policy to Senior Management
- Work in our quality assurance division
- Utilize efficient testing protocol across all product lines
- Inspect, measure, and test materials or products in production
- Operate inspection equipment
- Accept or reject finished or raw products
- Remove all product and/or materials that fail to meet specifications
- Report inspections and test data
- Partner with our R&D department on new products, processes, and/or procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree in chemistry or related field preferred
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English
- Minimum 2 years experience
- In-depth understanding of industry standards preferred
- Knowledge of current federal and industry standards and best practices
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong focus on safety
- Basic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure specifications
- Experience conducting tests and samples in a lab setting utilizing chemicals and specialized equipment
- Documentation and reporting skills
- Ability to self-manage as well as work within a team
- Time management
- Comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time
*** Work environment
This job is performed in a manufacturing facility. The candidate will be exposed to normal office conditions and equipment that includes computers, phones, printers, filing cabinets, etc. The candidate will also be exposed to a manufacturing environment that includes lab equipment, chemicals, large machinery, etc. Depending on location within the site, the candidate will be exposed to loud noise. The manufacturing environment is not temperature controlled.
The use of company provided PPE such as safety goggles/glasses, gloves, respirators, etc. is required on a regular basis.
