ROLE OVERVIEWThe Accounting Manager oversees a team responsible for the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and reporting. This role combines leadership, technical accounting expertise, and process improvement — supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles in accordance with US GAAP. The manager will act as a key partner across accounting, finance, and operations, driving both accuracy and efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3 accounting professionals; oversee workload and quality of deliverables
- Manage monthly and quarterly close processes including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis
- Conduct moderately complex financial analysis (historical, forecasting, and impact-based) to support leadership decision-making
- Research and resolve accounting issues independently; apply GAAP to determine appropriate treatment
- Partner cross-functionally to identify process improvement opportunities and strengthen internal controls
- Support and communicate with internal teams and external auditors to address audit-related matters
- Execute special projects to resolve complex or non-recurring accounting issues
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and process excellence across the team
- Prepare and review monthly financial statement analyses
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- 4+ years of accounting experience (or Master’s degree + 3 years)
- CPA preferred but not required
- Experience in public accounting a plus
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial controls
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and Access
