Position: Family Assistant for a Family of Four in Mooresville NC

Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in Mooresville, NC, in finding a Full-Time Family Assistant for their two boys, ages 13 and 11 years old. The nanny would typically be needed Monday - Friday, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, during the school year, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, during the summer.

The Best Family Assistant would be active, fun, positive, and highly engaged with the children, while also maintaining a high level of professionalism and dedication to their role. This position is ideal for someone energetic, dependable, and truly invested in supporting both the children’s development and the smooth operation of the household.

During the school year, the boys will be in school. While they are at school, the Family Assistant will assist with household management duties for a few hours each day before picking the boys up from school and transporting them to extracurricular activities. During the summer, the role will include transporting the boys to and from camps and activities.

The Family Assistant should genuinely enjoy teaching and engaging curious, energetic boys who love to stay busy. Daily activities may include sports, games, science experiments, arts and crafts, trips to local parks and libraries, and other enriching outings, all designed to keep the boys active while supporting their growth and development.

The family follows a minimal screen-time policy and asks that the Family Assistant respect these guidelines, with flexibility on days impacted by weather, illness, or other special circumstances. Ensuring the children's homework is complete and assisting with school projects is a key responsibility. From a discipline standpoint, the boys respond best to a caregiver who can set clear boundaries, hold them accountable, and guide behavior in a calm, loving, and consistent manner.

Encouraging independence—such as cleaning up after themselves and completing age-appropriate chores—is an important part of the role.

Both parents work from home in designated offices (Mom full-time, Dad two days per week). The family values a collaborative partnership with their Family Assistant and appreciates open communication, shared expectations, and consistency around discipline, consequences, and boundaries.
