Position: Senior Architectural Designer ( Hybrid )

Proximity Architecture, PC is growing and seeking self-motivated, energetic candidates for the following position.

Overview

Job title:

Senior Architectural Designer.

Reports to:

Principal Architect.

Summary:

Responsible for the design development and coordination of multiple complex projects through all phases of the design process.

Special Characteristics

This is a designer with experience and proficiency in leading a design team from project concept to project completion. This designer should be proficient in the timely coordination and preparation of accurate and detailed computer drafted construction documents for medium-to-large commercial projects. Designer works closely with in-house CAD drafters and receives limited direction from the Principal Architect and clients. Other responsibilities may be available based on experience level.

Typical

Work
  • Prepare accurate and detailed computer drafted construction drawings in a clear and logical manner adapted from client’s prototypical documents with limited direction.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed computer drafted drawings from project notes, sketches, etc., provided by client and/or Principal Architect.
  • Conduct project due diligence beyond information provided by client.
  • Conduct building code research for project.
  • Initiate and conduct client and sub-consultant project meetings.
  • Coordinate with client’s MEP, Civil, and Structural sub-consultants from project concept through to issuance of construction documents.
  • Set, monitor, and maintain project schedules/deadlines.
  • Ensure that project milestones are met.
  • Communicate and coordinate project requirements with client’s in-house project managers and construction managers.
  • Assist client with development and management of prototype documents.
  • Assist client with project submittals to local authorities for permitting.
  • Coordinate and track project addendums, revisions, and RFIs.
  • Responsible for publishing and submitting drawing packages as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in architectural technology
  • 5+ years of producing architectural projects in the commercial and/or retail sectors
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Autocad & Revit, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, and Sketch-up
  • Self-motivated and possess the ability to meet highly aggressive project deadlines and schedules

Working Conditions

This is a hybrid position that requires a minimum of three days of in-office work per week at our office in Mooresville, NC. Position requires the ability to work from a computer for hours at a time. Typical 40-hour work week. Some travel may be required for site visits.
