Mobile Communications America (MCA) is a trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security. We are a growing data division located in Mooresville, NC and are looking for an experienced Microwave Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, adjust, and calibrate standard test apparatus or devices.
  • Analyze and record testing results.
  • Utilize test equipment to conduct functional, operational, and environmental testing.
  • Perform detailed RF test measurements such as gain transfer, frequency response, noise figure, modulation, and return loss using manual and automated tests.
  • Understand the operation of various types of test equipment such as Power Meters, Frequency Counters, and Spectrum/Network Analyzers.
  • Maintain and establish effective working relationships with other employees, contractors, and customers.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience repairing and installing microwave radio systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with OEMs specific to projects.
  • Strong technical electronics background with troubleshooting skills and failure analysis ability.
  • Knowledge of microwave radio equipment concepts, characteristics, capabilities, and theoretical design.
  • Certification on Wavence or ALU 9500

    MPR Microwave Radios, or ability to pass certification testing within 90 days of employment.
  • Understanding of two‑way radio / cellular infrastructure communications products, services, and systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience with public safety communications, cellular infrastructure, military communications, or civil infrastructure construction (desired).
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
Physical Requirements

The position requires working both inside and outside in various climates (heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid). Typical duties include standing, walking, sitting, using hands for handling tools, reaching, climbing stairs, speaking, hearing, and wearing personal protective equipment. The employee must lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally climb ladders, operate a motor vehicle, and maintain computer use. On‑call coverage for critical systems maintenance may be required.

Shift hours: first shift Monday–Friday with occasional second or third shift and weekend work depending on project schedules.

Travel Requirements

Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs.
