Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital
Pursue your passion for caring with Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in Mooresville, North Carolina. The smallest of Duke Health’s four hospitals at 123 beds, it offers a comprehensive range of medical services, including 24‑hour emergency care, cardiology, orthopedics, women’s services, and surgical specialties.
OverviewTo actively coordinate, on a day-to-day basis, the provision of high quality, comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients, in compliance with federal and state legal/regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards.
Responsibilities- Involve with multiple drug distribution functions including computerized order entry and/or prospective review and verification of physicians’ orders, IV admixture preparation, etc.
- Perform defined clinical/cognitive activities to optimize therapeutic outcomes under the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee directives, including active communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff about clarifying or changing an order and documenting intervention outcomes.
- Provide educational activities with pharmacist colleagues and other health‑care professionals (e.g., physicians, nurses) to maintain and advance clinical competency with regard to drug therapy.
- Supervise technicians’ drug preparation and distribution activities to assure safe and expedient delivery of pharmaceutical care to DRMC patients and staff.
Skills and Abilities
Appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the role include medication use evaluation, patient counseling, pharmacy information systems proficiency, and leadership of pharmacy technicians.
Minimum QualificationsEducation: Entry‑level pharmacy degree (e.g.,
B.Sc, Pharm
D) from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Experience: Preferred:
Two (2) or more years of experience in a hospital or health system.
Licensures,
Certifications:
Licensed Pharmacist by the NC Board of Pharmacy.

Schedule varies: 0600–1430, 0800–1630, 1300–2100. Currently rotating weekends and holidays. Weekends and holidays are 0700–1900.
