Dimension Control Technician

Shift: Tue-Fri – 1st week / Wed-Sat – 2nd week, 5:00 am – 3:30 pm

Position Summary

Performs shrinkage control sampling and testing, and processes pellets from powder for shrinkage measurements. Supports efficient manufacturing of ceramic products by assembling, repairing, and controlling cradles used in the extrusion process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Obtain green Honey Ceram samples and STs for each extruder line and kiln cycle.
• Mark and measure samples daily; review shrinkage results after each cycle.
• Evaluate results against customer specifications; conduct additional measurements on the Contour Machine when needed.
• Hold or forward samples based on results; obtain incoming honey cream from Japan for measurement.
• Recognize production defects such as Hensy-color, Tatagire-Cracks, and Tamen-Face cracks.
• Check cradles visually and with measuring instruments; operate HAAS CNC Mill, hot cutting knife, and hot wire cutting machine.
• Maintain inventories and notify supervisor of supply needs.
• Assemble and repair cradles, bumpers, and screws; enter data into Infinity, spreadsheets, etc.
• Participate in PM, MMOL, and G5S activities; follow EMS waste disposal procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6‑month manufacturing/warehousing experience or equivalent.
• Complete CRC (Bronze or above).
• Certified Production Technician program completion (preferred).
• Computer proficiency in Excel and Infinity.
• Strong craftsmanship, attention to detail, and understanding of extrusion tooling and shrinkage theory.
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and communicate in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
• Mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, units of measure.
• Problem‑solving and reasoning abilities for practical situations with limited standardization.
